16-year-old Hingham Teen Sustains Serious Injury after Being Hit by a Car While Jogging

|

On the morning of August 19th, 2013, a 16-year-old girl was out for a morning jog along Longmeadow Road in Hingham, MA when she was struck from behind by a car traveling in the same direction. According to police reports the 67-year-old driver of the vehicle was going westbound along Longmeadow Road towards Main Street when she struck the teenage girl. It was unclear as to the exact cause of the accident, however the driver apparently pulled over immediately to render aid and contact emergency services. After receiving treatment at the scene, an ambulance then transported the girl to Boston Children's Hospital in serious condition. The driver did not sustain any injuries. By all accounts the girl was wearing headphones and running along the right side of the road with traffic, as there is no sidewalk in that section of road. An investigation has been launched into the exact cause of the accident. No charges have been filed as of this time.

There are certain activities which may require a person to exercise a greater level of caution. It is an unfortunate fact that even when an individual is careful to be safe, an unexpected accident can occur. In such a case, is important to have a skilled attorney by your side, working hard to protect your right to full compensation. If the other person's negligence or carelessness led to serious injuries, that person must be held liable. Our firm works hard to protect the rights of accident victims in the Quincy area. We believe that the victim of an accident should not be left having to pay for his or her medical care and other damages. If you believe your injuries were caused by another person's negligence or dangerous act while driving, contact Quincy personal injury attorney Dave Flanagan at once.
